DISCHARGING AND LOCKING WITH ROTARY VALVES
Components of a Rotary Valve:
Rotor: The rotating heart of the valve, featuring pockets (compartments) designed to transport material efficiently.
Housing: The robust, stationary outer casing that securely encases the rotor.
Inlet and Outlet: Precisely engineered openings ensuring smooth entry and exit of materials.
Drive Mechanism: Typically an electric motor, skillfully connected to the rotor via a high-performance gearbox.
Working Principle:
Material Inlet:
Material destined for control enters the sophisticated valve through the top-located inlet.
The internal rotor, fitted within the valve housing, features multiple compartments. As the rotor rotates, these compartments pass directly under the inlet.
Filling the Pockets:
Material gravitates into the rotor's compartments, ensuring each pocket is filled as it aligns beneath the inlet.
Rotational Movement:
The drive mechanism powers the rotor's rotation, with speed adjustable based on the desired material flow rate.
As the rotor continues to turn, the filled pockets migrate from the inlet to the outlet.
Material Discharge:
Upon reaching the outlet, typically positioned at the valve's bottom, material discharges effortlessly due to gravity.
The empty pockets then rotate back towards the inlet to begin the cycle anew.
Sealing:
Ingenious valve design ensures a perfect seal between inlet and outlet, crucial for preventing air or material leakage and maintaining consistent flow and pressure.
Advanced rotary valves feature additional sealing mechanisms to handle fine powders and guarantee airtight operations.
